Tehran, Kuala Lumpur settle on trade using Chinese, Japanese currencies

TEHRAN – Iran and Malaysia called for boosting of bilateral trade ties using Japanese yen and Chinese Yuan, Tasnim reported on Saturday.
Central Bank of Iran (CBI)’s Vice Governor for Foreign Exchange Affairs Gholamali Kamyab, who visited the South Asian country on top of a delegation, held talks with senior directors of Malaysian trade banks and officials of the Central Bank of Malaysia on Friday.
In a meeting with Assistant Governor to the Central Bank of Malaysia Adnan Zaylani Mohamad Zahid, Kamyab noted that CBI’s policy is focused on using local currencies to facilitate trade.
The official further welcomed the Malaysian banks’ interest in opening Ringgit accounts for Iranian trade banks.
